The children of junior school can wear home clothes on their birthday. However, if they are going on a field trip, it is suggested that they come in the school uniform and may wear their home clothes on another day. They can carry one simple sweets for their friends and teachers. Senior school children must come in uniform on their birthdays. No elaborate birthday celebrations, such as carrying cake to be cut in class or expensive gifts, Chocolates are encouraged on campus.

Recruitment of teachers happens in an intensive manner where The Shri Educare Team is also involved. We look for teachers who are Graduates with B. Ed for Grade-1 onwards. They are then trained by the Shri Educare team as well. We provide generic as well as domain related trainings to teachers.

Yes, we do. We also conduct in-house and external trainings for all our staff, including Support Staff, to ensure that our mission of providing a safe and secure environment is implemented. These trainings are ongoing and mandatory for all staff employed at school.

Assessment is a continuous and ongoing process at LGIS. We follow the CCE pattern for assessments and evaluation at the Middle and Senior levels in school as defined by the ICSE.

In the Primary school and Junior Grades assessments are conducted to evaluate Understanding, Application and Effort. Whilst knowledge, retention and recall are very important, focus is on building Higher Order Thinking Skills which equip the child to become a self-motivated lifelong learner.

Formal assessments begin from middle school through a system of formative and summative assessment involving a mix of cycle tests, projects, presentations and quizzes, which incorporate writing and oral skills.

A record of the academic progress, cognitive and physical development of the children of all the classes is maintained by the teachers. These are shared periodically with parents and strategies for enhancing the child’s ability are designed.

We have an Infirmary with a full-time Nurse who is equipped to handle First Aid small cuts and bruises. Although no internal medicine will be administered by the School Nurse, in case of a need she will connect with the Parent to seek permission for the same. In case of an emergency, Parents are informed immediately and the child along with the Nurse will be rushed to the Hospital which the school has tied up with for required attention and action. Parent’s emergency contact number is kept as a part of school records.

Taking the child home mid-way during school hours is not a practice entertained by the school. The only occasion when this is allowed is in case of a tragedy in the family or if the child is sick himself/herself. However, the school will consider any other reason based on its gravity and urgency. This permission will be granted at the sole discretion of the Principal/Head and the child is allowed to go ONLY with the parents or a person with proper authorisation from the parents.

Yes. The school encourages good food habits and maintains high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. The campus has RO systems with water coolers to provide safe and clean drinking water. The quality of the water supply is monitored carefully throughout the year.

The school does not have a book/uniform shop. We have outsourced the same who are empanelled with us. They are present at school as and when required on tuck shop day and on other days parents can contact them directly.

All payments to school are by cheques, drafts or online bank transfers only.

All the classes are monitored by teachers at all times. During the break or any such time, teachers monitor the campus as per the duty register. All disciplinary issues are addressed and an environment of integrity is encouraged. Students are expected to follow school rules and conduct themselves appropriately. There is round the clock surveillance of the campus. Identity cards are issued to students and staff and must be carried all the time. Teachers are scheduled on buses as per the duty register, except during stay backs. In case of a field trip, outstation trip or an event outside the campus, children are accompanied by teachers.

English is the medium of instruction, with Hindi being offered as the second language, as we emphasise the use of both languages. A third language is offered from Grade VI to VIII, with the options being Sanskrit, depending on the numbers of student that opt for them.

There are regular Parent Teacher Meetings held in school. While formal report cards are given twice a year, a system of non-reporting Parent Teacher Meets is also followed. Specific days are also assigned for each class where parents can walk-in to meet the teachers with prior appointment.

The school communicates with parents through the website, text messages, e-mail and school diaries. Scheduled communication between teachers and parents includes parent teacher meetings, end of the term reporting, meeting by appointment and walk-in time. Apart from these scheduled meetings, teachers meet with parents whenever a need arises and much informal communication takes place at the many school events. The school website offers a vast amount of information on the school, and its programs and events.

The school encourages involvement of parents. The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) which will be formed by the end of the first year will meet periodically to discuss the infrastructural and academic issues of the school. Suggestions are taken seriously and solutions incorporated. Parents are also encouraged to volunteer for and work with the school in holding workshops, escorting students for trips and taking the initiative for any other program they feel fit for.

Yes, we do accept student applications from other educational systems, subject to the parameters laid down by ICSE/CBSE.

To provide state of the art infra facility and to ensure that trained and qualified faculty are on board, the school needs to raise sufficient funds. The fee structure at school has been decided keeping several factors in mind and is comparable to other schools in the city.
