Fostering Holistic Development Through Physical Education and Sports
At Le Grand International School (LGIS), we hold a steadfast belief that physical education, when seamlessly integrated with academics and given nearly equal importance, can be just as enduring and invaluable as traditional classroom learning. Our approach to physical education goes beyond sports; it’s about cultivating essential life skills that our students will carry with them throughout their lives.
Nurturing Essential Life Skills
Our physical education and sports sessions are designed with a clear objective: to instill lifetime skills in our students. These skills include:
Respect
We teach our students to respect not only their peers but also themselves. Respect for rules, opponents, and teammates is at the core of our sportsmanship values.
Attentiveness
Physical education demands focus and attentiveness. Students learn to concentrate on tasks and instructions, a skill that carries over to their academic pursuits.
Inclusiveness
Team sports teach the importance of inclusiveness and working collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
Teamwork & Spirit
Through team sports and group activities, students develop a strong sense of teamwork, camaraderie, and sportsmanship.
Conflict Resolution
Sports provide a safe space for students to learn how to resolve conflicts peacefully and respectfully, a skill that serves them well in all aspects of life.
Handling Success & Failure
Victories and defeats are part of every athlete’s journey. Our students learn to gracefully handle both success and failure, building resilience and emotional intelligence.
Physical Fitness
Our physical education program equips students with the ability to develop strength, speed, endurance, and coordination, ensuring they maintain a healthy lifestyle.
